You're THE judge everyone listens to but how do you rate when the pond becomes an ocean? The 11th annual Amber Waves of Grain Homebrew Competition is looking for judges to help judge in excess of 400 entries on May 18th and 19th 2007. A casual but exquisite "Brewer's Night Out" banquet is held the evening of the 19th. The competition is held in the Buffalo/ Niagara Falls area. Some private accommodations are available. So, mark your calendar, promise your significant other a romantic trip to the falls the day after the competition and swim on over even if you're a small fish looking to grow. We guarantee you'll have a good time. And if you can't join us but want to put your homebrew against some stiff competition, get it here and we'll put a big fish on it. For additional information go to www.awoghomebrew.com or contact Bill Koch at judge`at`awoghomebrew.com. We look forward to seeing you and thanks for the help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Formanek, Joe Date: Mon, 2 Apr 2007 08:13:26 -0500 Subject: Second call for judges - Great Lakes NHC 1st round AND Longshot competition in Chicago Greetings Beer Judges!! Hello all, This is a reminder e-mail for all those entering, judging, and/or stewarding the National Homebrew Competition (NHC) this year. Entries are due between Monday, April 2nd and Friday, April 13th at 5 p.m. To find the site for sending or dropping off your entries this year, go to http://www.beertown.org/events/nhc/site.html to access the maps (in PDF format). The West region is adding a drop-off ONLY location (no shipments will be accepted at this location) which will be posted on the site location page (see above). Online entry (http://www.brewingcompetition.com/NHC/nhc.php) is available until midnight (PDT) Tuesday, April 10th. After 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11th, all entries which have not been already signed up online with the labels printed will require an entry form which you can download (PDF) from this web page: http://www.beertown. org/events/nhc/entry.html . Please attach the entry fee check ($8 per entry for AHA Members, $12 per entry for non-members) and bottle labels/entry forms to each entry using rubber bands; do NOT attach with glue or tape. Make your check out to AHA, and you might want to put the check and the entry form in a plastic bag before attaching them to the bottle. Pack your entries well so there is little or no possibility of the bottles moving or shifting during transit. Do NOT send your entries through the US Postal Service, use a shipping company. There are tips on packing and sending your entries in the Rules and Regulations document (PDF format) (http://www.beertown.org/events/nhc/rules.html)
