While commendable, I'd be somewhat afraid that without a very good washing that there could be some residuals from one beer to the next that may affect flavor, aroma and head retention. It is good to drink the rinse water since this helps hydrate you and prevent headaches/hangovers. I've judged a perhaps 150 competitions and have used glass at only a few of them. Glass is fine. So is hard plastic. When you buy in bulk, the hard plastic glasses are not that expensive and it's easy enough to recycle them. So for those who use their own personal glasses, do you bring enough to sample several beers side-by-side? To participate in mini-BOS? To join a BOS panel if asked? And when we're asked to judge large flights in shorter than desired time, how much time is spent washing/rinsing/drying your glass? Is your brewing partner waiting?
