We ask for your assistance and your judging pallettes in the premier Long Island homebrew competition. Volunteer stewards are also welcome. This is an AHA/BJCP sanctioned event. BJCP judging points awarded for each flight and BOS judging. All beers will be judged according to the 2004 BJCP Style guidelines. Judging begins a 10:00 am. The doors will be open to the public at 4:00pm for the Best of Show, Brewer's Cup and the Awards Ceremony. Brewerania will be raffled, great homebrews will be on tap, beer related food contest, fun and music are all included. Come on down and show your support for the craft of Homebrewed Beer! Judges, mark your calendars! The 12th Annual Boneyard Brew-Off will be held on June 3, organized by the Boneyard Union of Zymurgical Zealots, Champaign, Illinois. In addition to the styles set forth by the 2004 BJCP guidelines, we are also continuing our tradition of a No One Gets Out Alive High-Gravity category, with a hedonic judging of any beer, mead, or cider with a starting gravity over 1.070. I know I have turned down several competition invites, because I would have to pay over $100 in gas costs to drive to and from the competition (I have gone to these competitions in the past, when gas was cheaper). Are any other judges cutting back their judging activities due to the fuel prices?
