The 1st Round of the National Homebrew Competition for the Northwest Region is upon us this weekend in Seattle at Pyramid Brewing across from Safeco Field. We need your help to produce the largest homebrew event in Washington State with over 200 entries! Pyramid is the premier venue of choice, and it will certainly be a great show with your help. We have several out of state judges heading our way, and definitely some mighty fine beers as well. Food will be provided by Pyramid; we were given the royal treatment when we held the event their in 2004. There is an opportunity to do some preliminary judging on Wednesday night in Lynnwood at 8 PM before the big show. Please let me know if you are interested by emailing me directly `at` AHAOrganizer@CascadeBrewersGuild.Org. The Portland-half of our 1st Round went very well and all judging was completed in one very long day. Congrats to our southern cousins on their great efforts! Judging/Stewarding: I need all volunteers to sign up for NHC 1st Round NW - Seattle on https://www.RegWizard.Net ; this is the same application that we used to manage 6 of the 10 NHC regionals with online registrations these last few weeks. The Wednesday night session is not listed; just email me directly for that. Set Roles for the Event are: Site Director (Organizer): Alan Hord Cellar Master: Larry Harms We need Experienced Judges to lead tables! We need all members to contribute a day in service! Pyramid treats us well, and that is a pretty big hint and reason to participate ;o) Date/Time: Please be at Pyramid Brewing, across from Safeco Field before 9:30 AM April 29th-30th * Do not park in their lot; take one of the back lots nearby. Duration: Till about 4 PM. We need to exit the room and head to the bar by 5 PM. Link: http://www.pyramidbrew.com/ Directions: http://tinyurl.com/n7llg I look forward to your participation! Thank you, and cheers! This is a whopping number, especially when one considers that's from only two states. Primary judging will be Saturday, April 29, at Emmett's in West Dundee (128 W Main St). Breakfast will be available at 8:30AM with calibration starting at 9AM. Judges should plan to arrive by 8:45 and stewards should arrive at 8:00 to help get things ready. We'll be holding a 3rd judging session at the Goose Island Brewpub (1800 N. Clybourn in Chicago) on Tuesday, May 02, at 7:00PM. People should plan on arriving at 6:30. We're hoping this session will be light. Food will be provided afterwards. We absolutely need every available BJCP, pro, and experienced judge to make this successful. Folks without judging experience are encouraged to steward so they can become familiar with the process and gain experience. Please contact Steve Hamburg (stevie`at`chibeer.org) or Joe Preiser (glnhc06`at`jpreiser.com) if you're able to help out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ***** Important Subscriber Information ***** To post a message to JudgeNet, send it to judge`at`synchro.com.
