You received the Sanctioned Competition email package from me; why not simply ask me for what you need? Since you registered the Cascadia Cup you should know that when you register a competition on-line the system allows you to specify those states from which you'd like to receive judges. You only asked for those from WA. Ask for more and you will get more. That goes for any competition that's registered; tell your friend Ted. Vancouver, BC is an easy drive to Seattle. For those of us in Edmonton and Calgary, AB, it's an easy 1 1/2 hour flight on Alaska Airlines and they even serve free microbrew beer. Probably no more difficult than travelling from eastern Washington. I didn't catch this until after the first mailing. I mentioned this to my Oregon friend Ted who is affiliated with the Slurp & Burp in Estacata on March 25th and he had the Judge Coordination send me their List. It's the same short list as well - only Oregon judges. I find this a bit odd; why limit the amount of potential candidates? The Cascadia Cup and the Slurp & Burp HBCs are large enough to draw in both judges and entries from neighboring states. If fact, large events depend on judges from outside the area to fill the ranks and complete the event sooner. And I would add that in the past up to a quarter of our entries have come from Oregon, as I'm sure our southern cousins receive a large portion from Washington. Is there a reason why we are bound to our own state? I fear to ask if this is the case with good events in Rhode Island or Connecticut or Delaware. Please kind Sirs, give us more :o) BTW - Last call to register for the Cascadia Cup! Please register by Feb 27th. Due to the limits inherited, we will accept out-of state-entries up till March 1st. Cheers! Thus the error probably lies w/ whomever registered your competition. The competition packet from the BJCP always included all of the states that I requested. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Chuck Cox Date: Sat, 25 Feb 2006 21:22:26 -0500 Subject: Gone skiing JudgeNet will be unmoderated until Wednesday.
