Greetings, fellow judges! The 8th Annual UKG Drunk Monk Challenge will be held on Saturday, March 11th, at Walter Payton's Roundhouse - America's Brewery, in Aurora IL, with Mead/Cider judging being conducted the night before at another local location. It is an AHA sanctioned competition, a qualifying event for the MCAB (Master Championship of Amateur Brewing), and a leg of Midwest Homebrewer of the Year. It's always a lot of fun, and we usually have a rather large number of entries (500-600) - so we're looking for a lot of judges to help us out! We have beds for brewers, the traditional "Gumbofest" party the night before the competition where one can consume to their hearts content, special DMC glassware for all judges and stewards, good food for breakfast and lunch the day of judging, a fantastic raffle (Our raffles are truly the largest ever seen at a homebrew competition!), and of course great camaraderie and cheer. If you have judged this competition in then past, I trust that you are in agreement with this! (^8~ We really do appreciate the judge's dedication of time and effort to help us out, and we want to make sure that you don't go away disappointed! So - if you are interested in judging at the DMC, please contact me by e-mail at jformanek`at`griffithlaboratories.com, or by phone at (630) 378-4694. Cheers! To fix the problem we had to switch to a new hosting company, so it took a while for our new nameservers to propogate throughout the internet.
