BJCP Continuing Education Program ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: BJCP Education Director Date: Tue, 17 Jan 2006 13:05:26 -0600 Subject: BJCP Continuing Education Program Every active brewer and judge looks for new information about beer. >From brewing tips to judging fundamentals, our knowledge about liquid bread grows and evolves. Not only do we love to learn, but also we love to share our knowledge with others! =20 Did you know you can now get credit for organizing, teaching or just attending these sessions? Hey, you were going to do it anyway, why not get a little bonus? =20 The BJCP Continuing Education Program is available to help you plan, teach and get BJCP credit for you efforts. =20 We offer two variants on credit, explained on the BJCP Website. But we've designed it so that most beer related activities could qualify. This means your clubs' annual pubcrawl, your club meetings, group brewing sessions, BJCP prep courses and special events can all qualify. =20 Here's all we ask: 1) Ask for credit before the event. 2) Have a knowledgeable instructor, presenter or guest. 3) Have a tasting element to identify and discuss ingredients, methods and/or flaws. 4) Give us some feedback from the attendees in the form of written analysis, a quiz or review that pertains to the session. OK, so this last one is there to prove attendance.. But we gotta know that stuff.. =20 Who's eligible: 1) Anyone can organize, instruct or speak for a class. All we ask of presenters is they be knowledgeable in the subject. Organizers can be the presenters. 2) Any current BJCP judge can earn non-judging credit towards advancing in rank by presenting, organizing or attending. This includes those who have taken the BJCP exam, but haven't received their results (or judge number) back. =20 Why do this: 1) To make better brewers and judges in your area. 2) To create better feedback from competitions 3) To increase knowledge among judges about trends, new products, emerging and existing styles. 4) To score better (uh. on the exam, we mean.) 5) TO HAVE FUN!!! =20 Any questions or comments please email us at cep`at`bjcp.org =20 =20 Your CEP team, =20 Kristen England - Director Kevin Pratt - Assistant director Ted Hausotter - Assistant director ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ***** Important Subscriber Information ***** To post a message to JudgeNet, send it to judge`at`synchro.com.
