Barnette Homebrew Competition!!! Judging will take place on Saturday, July 17th (and perhaps July 18th) at the Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling Company located in Fox, Alaska (a small mining community ~10 miles north of Fairbanks). The styles of beers that will be judged have been changed from what it as been in previous years. The six judged categories will be: Bitters & English Pale Ales (4A-C); American Pale Ales (6A-C); India Pale Ale (7); Porters (15A-B) ; Stouts (16A-D); and Fruit/Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer (21/22). The grand prize for Best of Show is $500! Great prizes as well as customized medals will also be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries ineach of the six judged categories. This year we will once again allow judges to enter the competition while saving on the shipping costs. All they need to is fill out the Entry and Bottle ID forms (including proper fee payments) and then simply drop off the entries on the day of the competition. Note that the idea of the pre-registration is to allow the Registrar time to log the entries before hand. Therefore, the pre-registration information and payment MUST be received by the entry deadline of Wednesday, July 14th. I hope you can help us out with judging the E.T. Barnette Homebrew Competition.
