Subject: Digest for the period 4/30/2004 - 5/1/2004 Date: Sat, 01 May 2004 01:02:26 -0400 Table of contents ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Aurora Brewing Challenge /MCAB 7 Qualifier ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: roxanne hastings Date: Thu, 29 Apr 2004 19:05:15 -0600 Subject: Aurora Brewing Challenge /MCAB 7 Qualifier The Edmonton Homebrewers Guild announces their annual Aurora Brewing Challenge / MCAB 7 qualifier to be held from 3-5 June 2004. Over $1000 in prizes and some really unique and spiff medals to be given out! This is the only Canadian site for MCAB but American entries are highly encouraged. The Foam Rangers have been doing well here over the last several years. Entry deadline is May 28th and we are taking entries starting 7 May. 2 bottles per entry and we take any type of bottle, any color, any size. Fees are $6.00 Cndn for the first 3 entries - $4.00 for the fourth and additional. All MCAB styles plus old BJCP styles 21-25. Enter as many categories as you wish and you can enter multiple entries into the same subcategory as long as each is identified with a unique name or number. Once again we have split categories for popular styles giving you a chance to win more medals! (However, as always, only the top beer in each style goes on to the MCAB finals.) Judges from outside Edmonton are most welcome and billeting is available. Entry forms and competition details are available at our web site www.ehg.ca Our competition entry form is available on a pdf file that you can fill in with Acrobat 5. It automatically fills in multiple entries saving you a lot of time and hassle. This year we are also hosting the first annual conference of the newly formed Western Confederation of Brew Clubs. The conference and banquet is being held on Saturday 5 June. The conference fee is $45.00 Cndn and includes five education sessions (including 2 BJCP training sessions) and the banquet. Extra banquet tickets for non-conference goers are $10.00. Details are also available on our web site.
