You are correct, they are sent out, but you would never, ever have to wait if they were available online. You could send out a note to all judges in anticipation of the competition months before the competition is fully organized. Some comps register 6 months or more before the comp, we generally get it in a few months before. Having availability online would end anyone having to take time to print labels or to send an electronic file unless it was specifically requested. Just a suggestion... Bill, I agree with you that people should be compensated for their work - and one of the ways that BJCP judges are compensated is by their points being awarded. Certainly people deserve that, and this is important. However, as you know, there are other reasons for judging besides getting points - as I wrote in my earlier post. Honestly, in a scheme like the BJCP where there is little in compensation for the work, a person has to enjoy what their doing in order to be truly effective in doing it. If all your doing is going through the motions, filling out scoresheets, etc, this sounds too much like the everyday drudgery of a real job!! Heck, I look at judging as being somewhat a vacation from the "real world". If I didn't like judging and the associated activities that go with it, I wouldn't do it for just the points - even if I did need them!
