That's actually the Bluebonnet Brew-off in Dallas, one of our fellow Gulf Coast competitions. They're a straight 26 category competition, while the Dixie Cup breaks down to over 40 individual medal categories. We haven't had anyone volunteer to come up with (and make) over 40 different color-coded stickers. :-) > The application is pretty complete in options but is primarily > BJCP-centric and explicitly online. My only comment here is that I'm disappointed it's not a cross-platform solution. The Dixie Cup database resides on Linux, is accessed via a Java client (thus is VERY flexible as to the volunteered hardware that's available for check-in, all that's required is an internet connection...) and can be exported to Access or any other database program you care to construct the contest application in. I see nothing wrong with being BJCP centric, since the AHA uses BJCP style guidelines for all their homebrew competitions... Now if it's being proposed for the GABF, that's a whole different ball of wax. -BDB2 Bev D. In looking at the guidelines they are almost the same except that Tripel can be a good bit stronger, but not necessarily. Color, IBU's, Carbonation, can all be the same. The Tripel is geared more to the Abbey and Trappist community and BSGA is a more mainstream commercial example, Duvel. I have had Duvel and many tripels, just not side by side.
