Subject: Digest for the period 1/6/2003 - 1/7/2003 Date: Tue, 07 Jan 2003 01:04:16 -0500 Table of contents ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. New topic ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jeremy Bergsman Date: Mon, 06 Jan 2003 09:38:05 -0500 Subject: New topic Since I've been having to PgDn a lot recently, let me offer up a new topic. There was a post in today's HBD about whether there was a need for tasters who would taste a beer critically for a small sum. As always I wanted to jump in and offer to taste it for free. The few times I've done this I have never been taken up on the offer. It's easy to see why--I look like a smart`at`$$ asking for a free beer. However, being a reasonably experienced judge I know the beer I would receive will be no picnic and I really mean it as an offer of help. Perhaps the BJCP could have a page on the web site where BJCP judges could give addresses or contact info if they were willing to judge beers sent to them for troubleshooting purposes? Even if addresses weren't given it could be listed by state so that "clients" could choose nearby judges.
