The National Bay Area Brew Off competition is joining with the Alameda County Fair this year. As an organizer, it is a win-win partnership. I only hope that the words "county fair" will not prevent too many national entries. We have one potential problem with the rules. The state has rules which govern all the county fairs (but apparently not the State Fair). The one rule I'm worried about is one that prevents anyone who enters a beer (any beer in any category) from judging. My question (finally): How have organizers of other CA county fairs dealt with this. Didn't know? Didn't enforce it? Got a waiver? If enforced, it will obviously either have an effect on the number of entries, or the ability to attract judges. I'm planning just the standard rule of not allowing judges to judge categories in which they have entries. - Bryan Bryan Gros bgros`at`aggienetwork.com Oakland, CA Draught Board Homebrew Club http://www.draughtboard.org --Message_Part_SYNC606544C2F7-- --Next_Part_SYNC606544C2F7-- Subject: Digest for the period 3/20/02 - 3/21/02 Date: Thu, 21 Mar 2002 01:03:15 -0500 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="Next_Part_SYNC606544C2F7" --Next_Part_SYNC606544C2F7 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Table of contents ---------------------------------------------------------------------- California county fair homebrew comp question (Bryan L.
