Are you still battling the Civil War as well? Is the outcome of the Revolutionary War still in debate? Still protesting the outcome of the Florida presidential election? All are in the past. Get over it and move on. Whatever the history of the AHA/BJCP, that was then, this is now. Why not spend your time more constructively by lending your talents to fixing that which you feel is broken rather than complain about it? I can see where Bill didn't understand the difference in St. Pats as an importer/wholesaler and as a retail store but Nathan was incensed by the newbie issue of Zymurgy that he hadn't read yet. All organizations consisting of human behavior will have some problems as will any relationship. Believe me, the BJCP isn't without it's warts and blemishes as well. Work to make it better or you haven't earned the right to bitch. Run for office or volunteer for some of the committees. Personally I'd rather see this forum focused on flavor profiling, creating better judging experiences and competitions. How do other competitions find treasure troves of prizes while many competitions make do with ribbons or metals only? What are the tricks to turning a profit in competitions, without pushing entry prices up, so that the club has money to spend on other activities? Exactly what causes an almond flavor in beer as a defect? Coconut? On to the bowl games today.
