Kaplan "I was wondering what the conventional wisdom is on having homebrew contests on Sunday versus Saturday as is the norm." There's no bad day to judge beer. I've judged many competitions and few if any were scheduled as Sunday only events. However, most large competitions, include the first round of the nationals, have judging on both Sat and Sunday. I've organized a number of competitions that included Sunday judging schedules. Being able to start a little later on Saturday to allow time for travelers from out of town to more easily attend and then ending a little earlier on Sunday to allow these judges to get back home works well. We usually start a little later on Sunday morning than we do on Sat morning to let judges sleep in from the night before or to go to church if they like. Guess we haven't thought about Jewish judges by having competitions on Saturday or Muslims and Friday sessions. Better to leave religion out of it I suppose.
