My awareness that they even had their own competition goes back only to the AHA-BJCP split, and I recall them providing entries to their national competition to be awarded to winners of local/regional competitions--much like the AHA gave entries to the NHC except that I (mis??)understood that those awards were the only way to get in (unlike the AHA-NHC free entries, which were simply a way to save the $9?
