His exploitss with the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild (did I get all the caps and compound words right?) are legendary, and I see him at many competitions in the fairly large upper- to central- Midwest, even when he has to drive 4-5 hours-- sometimes the day of the competition!-- to do so. In addition to being the NW/Mountain Regional Representative on the BJCP board, he is also the Secretay and an accomplished beer writer and artist. He has been the driving force behind the BJCP shirt project from the beginning, providing the original incentive, the artwork, several designs, and working with Scott Birdwell and the shirt supplier to make all this happen. The shirts appear to be a big success and I want to make sure everyone nows the pivotal role Alan has had in this project and its success.
