FYI, Ipswich Brewing (now) does Dornbusch Alt, brewed under supervision of Altbier author and Duesseldorf native Horst Dornbusch. That one may qualify fas another "authentic" (whatever that means for a beer brewed outside it's namesake city) D-er Altbier. Twice in the past 6 months I've had the happy opportunity to taste Altbier hand-carried from the source, and the Dornbusch Alt certainly has the same sorts of characteristics. -- Joel Plutchak --Next_Part_SYNC7249144C97-- Received: from srvr20.engin.umich.edu (root at srvr20.engin.umich.edu [141.213.75.22]) by srvr5.engin.umich.edu (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with ESMTP id CAA22160 for ; Thu, 27 Jan 2000 02:17:00 -0500 (EST) Received: from synchro.com (cccox.ne.mediaone.net [24.218.136.73]) by srvr20.engin.umich.edu (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with SMTP id CAA06246 for ; Thu, 27 Jan 2000 02:16:59 -0500 (EST) From: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" To: "Digest Recipients" Reply-To: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" Subject: Digest for the period 01/26/00 - 01/27/00 Message-ID: Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2000 01:00:42 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/digest; boundary="Next_Part_SYNC7249144C97" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Hops: 1 Status: RO --Next_Part_SYNC7249144C97 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Table of contents ------------------------------------------------------ Re: Digest for the period 01/25/00 - 01/26/00 (Joel Plutchak) --Next_Part_SYNC7249144C97 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Return-Path: Received: from ex1.ncsa.uiuc.edu ([141.142.2.9]) by synchro.com with SMTP (Mailtraq/1.1.4.1073) id SYNC72331441F8 for judge at synchro.com; Wed, 26 Jan 2000 09:42:24 -0500 Received: from mx1.ncsa.uiuc.edu (mx1.ncsa.uiuc.edu [141.142.2.8]) by ex1.ncsa.uiuc.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id IAA23271; Wed, 26 Jan 2000 08:42:22 -0600 (CST) Received: from pecos.ncsa.uiuc.edu (pecos.ncsa.uiuc.edu [141.142.4.6]) by mx1.ncsa.uiuc.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with SMTP id IAA10244; Wed, 26 Jan 2000 08:42:21 -0600 (CST) Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 08:42:21 -0600 (CST) From: Joel Plutchak Reply-To: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" Errors-To: judge-owner at synchro.com Sender: judge at synchro.com To: JudgeNet - the beer judge digest cc: jeremybb at leland.stanford.edu Subject: Re: Digest for the period 01/25/00 - 01/26/00 In-Reply-To: Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII X-md5sum: 74c5747a96ed8e17f4835ec431fc391e X-md5sum-Origin: mx1.ncsa.uiuc.edu X-Hops: 3 X-POST-MessageClass: 10; Mailing List Message Jeremy Bergman wrote: > Just picked up some Widmer Winternacht.
