The notes I received on the BUZZ suggest that the >> problem might be communication between AHA and BJCP as the problem here. > >Exactly...all AHA-sanctioned, or double-sanctioned with organizer report >sent only to the AHA (the case with BUZZ). This seems to begin to point a finger at the AHA, however that is not really fair. When an event is sanctioned by the AHA they send me a copy of the application so that I can create a list of local judges and send it to the organizer. I also send a BJCP Organizer's Report and Point Award Schedule along with a BJCP pre-addressed envelope with instructions that the Organizer's Report is to be completed and returned DIRECTLY TO THE BJCP so that points may be recorded. We set up this system specifically to avoid having the AHA forward reports to us because we knew that would tend to increase the frequency of lost reports. When I see a report missing in excess of 90 days (or so) I send a letter to the organizer of record requesting the report. If an event comes up the following year and is still missing a report I ask the current organizer to help to get a report filed for the missing year. I may miss these from time to time due to the seasonal nature of the events (and when I am short on time) so I try to catch them all by including them in the annual mailing to the judges. My intention is not to draw attention to any one organizer, I just want to get the reports and the points recorded. I'm sorry if anyone is put out by this approach. Thanks, RW...
