Best of Show wins the chance to brew with the Hyde Park Brewer, John Eccles. Other prizes include a Culinary Institute of America gift certificate, brewing equipment, ingredients, gift certificates, beer, bar glasses, etc. Entries are due by Sat. March 20th and should be entered per the 1998 BJCP style guidelines. Judges and stewards are still required for this event. Best of Show went to Bill Freeman and Paul Jann for their Kartoffel Kolsch. Second Place in BOS went to Doug McCullough for his Boughs of Barley Barleywine. Third Place in BOS, and Best Extract Beer, went to Kim Thomson for his Flanders Red, which scored 47. The winner of the Best Potato Beer award -- for the second straight year -- was Brian Dueweke of the Weekend Brewers in Virginia, for his Scotch Potato beer.
