They don't have to get involved in running disputes, but there should be formal responses to issues and questions. Representatives are responsible to the electorate. As has been observed, a written newsletter isn't necessary [at least as frequently] when we have the electronic media. Could be email, but could also be posted on the web site. Is security an issue? Then have a private, password protected portion of the web site constructed. If the AHA can have a members only I'd bet we could! Will it cost us something? Sure but the savings on postage if the reporter and the individual records could be obtained on-line. Would this have to be a quarterly posting? No, just when there is something necessary to post. But I'd argue that status and answers to difficult questions is necessary. If every committee chair, regional representative and our leaders don't want to communicate to the membership often and openly, then they shouldn't accept the positions. I am glad to see some of our reps use this media; maybe they all are and I just don't recognize all the names with current positions. The postings seem to be more un-official than official. Using our web site would not be nearly as expensive as the annual (much less quarterly) mailings. Let's just do it. Dave Houseman --Next_Part_SYNC86095FA1B--
