Is there a site that lists all the qualifying comps and substyles? The web address I know of for MCAB (http://brew.oeonline.com/mcab/) does not have any info other than the current (1998-99) event. The _BJCP Reporter_ has never promised to appear on any particular schedule. In the first issue, the editor said he hoped it would be possible to publish it quarterly, but it certainly wasn't a promise. At that time, there was a lot going on, and it seemed that quarterly might be the right frequency. It hasn't worked out that way, and publication has been irregular. One major reason for irregular publication has been the lack of substantive information to report. The annual mailing from the Program Administrator (along with point updates) has provided most of what members needed to know. Supplemental information has been printed in the newsletter and on the BJCP website. Another point to consider is the fact that we've printed every single piece ever submitted by any BJCP member. Perhaps that could be taken as a hint that if we received more submissions, we'd publish more frequently. Another minor, but still important point is that it costs a minimum of half a dollar to put a copy of the newsletter in your mailbox. That's using a very economical printer and bulk rate postage. It costs considerably more for the many non-U.S. members. Since no annual dues are charged, perhaps it's best not to publish just for the sake of publishing.
