I, along with Greg Lorton, came up with Ancient, Medieval, and Indigenous Beers. We are busy preparing historical example guidelines and narrowing down the available literary sources for such. I know that there a few of you that have an interest in ancient styles. To your knowledge, has this category been implemented at any other contest? I would be interested to know of any special problems or considerations that should be addressed in attempting to judge such a wide-open category. We would like to avoid any obvious overlap with the Herb & Spice and Specialty & Experimental categories. Fermented beverages of this nature are not readily available and we are trying to figure out how to best prepare a judging panel for such a judging adventure! We have prepared a description of the category, complete with reference sources and a partial list of example beverages. I would be glad to forward this to any interested party. Any and all comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Peter Zien Quality Ale & Fermentation Fraternity (QUAFF) pz.jdzinc at worldnet.att.net --Next_Part_SYNC80335AF5B--
