I have never heard that 3 is the optimum number for a panel. We do 4 around here if we have the judges--I think it's great. I don't like the panel to 'reach a decision.' I prefer each judge to score to the best of his/her ability, using the discussion for education rather than score/comment adjustment. If you pour carefully and require 12 oz bottles, you can get a second half pour from a bottle. It will have suspended yeast if a bottle conditioned beer and obviously the judges must take this into account. -- Jeremy Bergsman jeremybb at leland.stanford.edu http://www.stanford.edu/~jeremybb --Next_Part_SYNC788959C9B-- Received: from srvr22.engin.umich.edu (root at srvr22.engin.umich.edu [141.212.2.35]) by srvr5.engin.umich.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id JAA06481 for ; Wed, 6 Jan 1999 09:54:55 -0500 (EST) Received: from hubris.engin.umich.edu (root at hubris.engin.umich.edu [207.75.146.24]) by srvr22.engin.umich.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id JAA07237 for ; Wed, 6 Jan 1999 09:54:54 -0500 (EST) Received: from localhost (spencer at localhost [127.0.0.1]) by hubris.engin.umich.edu (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with ESMTP id JAA12063 for ; Wed, 6 Jan 1999 09:54:53 -0500 (EST) Resent-Message-Id: <199901061454.JAA12063 at hubris.engin.umich.edu> Received: from srvr22.engin.umich.edu (root at srvr22.engin.umich.edu [141.212.2.35]) by srvr5.engin.umich.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id BAA04756 for ; Sat, 2 Jan 1999 01:07:36 -0500 (EST) Received: from synchro.com (cccox.ne.mediaone.net [24.128.144.90]) by srvr22.engin.umich.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id BAA21514 for ; Sat, 2 Jan 1999 01:07:36 -0500 (EST) From: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" To: "Digest Recipients" Reply-To: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" Subject: Digest for the period 01/01/99 - 01/02/99 Message-ID: Date: Sat, 02 Jan 1999 01:04:59 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/digest; boundary="Next_Part_SYNC788959C9B" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Hops: 1 Resent-To: spencer at engin.umich.edu Resent-Date: Wed, 06 Jan 1999 09:54:53 -0500 Resent-From: Spencer W Thomas Status: RO --Next_Part_SYNC788959C9B Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Table of contents ------------------------------------------------------ JudgeNet Monthly Information Posting (judge-owner) judges per panel (Jeremy Bergsman) --Next_Part_SYNC788959C9B Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Return-Path: Date: Fri, 01 Jan 1999 00:00:06 -0500 From: judge-owner Reply-To: "JudgeNet - the beer judge digest" Errors-To: judge-owner at synchro.com Sender: judge at synchro.com To: JudgeNet - the beer judge digest Subject: JudgeNet Monthly Information Posting Message-ID: X-Hops: 3 X-POST-MessageClass: 10; Mailing List Message The JudgeNet website is at http://synchro.com/judge.
