City Spring Reg Homebrew Competition ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Dennis Davison Date: Tue, 20 Jan 1998 21:53:56 -0600 Subject: BBC & Registered/Recognized Peter Asks: > Did Boston Beer COMPANY at least make the promised payment to the > BJCP? Does ANYONE know? I've asked twice before, with no reply. It'd > be nice if we at least got a token payment for the improper use of our > name...;-) In 1996 the BJCP received $10,000 from BBC for the support of the 1995 World Homebrew Competition. Since them, there have been no other monies received. That information was given out last March when the point updates went out in the cover letter..... Jeremy questions: > I have been informed that the term the BJCP uses is "registered." I > thought it was "recognized." I think that registered is a pretty > good word. Unfortunately, the BJCP web site is somewhat unclear > about which term to use, and the general public still uses recognized > and sanctioned to describe BJCP registered competitions. The competition needs to be registered before it becomes recognized. So that's why the forms say registration. Once registered, it becomes recognized, provided the requirements are met, which they are in 99.9% of the cases. The other .1% requires additional legwork by the BJCP. Hope this helps clear it up a little. - -- Dennis Davison mailto:ddavison at execpc.com BJCP Representative for the Midwest BJCP President http://www.bjcp.org ------------------------------ From: PBSys at softhome.net Date: Wed, 21 Jan 1998 07:57:23 -0500 Subject: 7th N.Y.
