Maybe I >have his address wrong, but one of the emails was sent directly off of the AHA's web page, >so I doubt it. It is the right address. I emailed Brian at that address in November regarding the Club only comps and he did respond promptly with all of the dates - maybe I am one of the lucky ones. Having said that, however, our club has emailed numerous people trying to change information on the AHA web page regarding our club and no one has responded. In fact we even called and they were clueless. Steve, Actually, I only received one email from you. However, it doesn't matter, I try to respond to all the emails that I receive and even though I have sent out many emails with the 1998 Club-Only Competition schedule, yours did fall through the cracks. I apologize. Also, we did send the information to all clubs by snail-mail in the Clubs Quarterly. We did have a few returned due to change of addresses. If your club did not receive the AHA's Clubs Quarterly, please email me directly with the correct information (name, address, telephone and email) of your club's contact. I will also email you the entire Instructions and Style Guidelines for the 98 Club-Only Comepetitions. I will follow this post with a posting of the 1998 Club-Only Competition Schedule. Again, Steve, I apologize. You correct when you say that the AHA has "a lot on their plate", but the Clubs Program is very important to us. As the organizer for the HAil to Ale competition this year I have been quite frustrated about the AHA's response to my queries about their "promotion" of the event. I will admit that it is listed in the current Zymurgy issue (The Barley wine issue, page 93), but htat appears to be the only place it has been advertised. Just prior to Christmas I talked via telephone to Brian Rezac at the AHA about when the web site will be updated. He assured me that it the updated info would be posted either by the end of that week of the next. This was before Christmas!!!! It still has not been updated. On 12/30 I recieved an email from Brian stating the AHA just mailed out the info to all the clubs and that Brian has been emailing info to all that have requested it (Has anyone either received a reply or a mailing from the AHA) For those who still haven't gotten the information here it is: Hail to Ale, AHA Club only competition is hosted by the Music City Brewers, Nashville TN and will be held Saturday January 31, 1998. Styles accepted: American Pale, American Amber, American Wheat, English Pale and India PAle Entry: One (1) entry per club, 3 brown or green unmarked bottles, 10 - 14 ounces, no raised markings like on the "Bass" bottles, no swing tops, black out any marks on the caps, attach a bottle ID label to each bottle with a rubber band, no tape. A recipe entry form must be included with the entry. (Standard AHA competition entry rules). Include a check for Five (5) dollars made payable to the ***AHA*** Pack well and send to: Chuck Skypeck Boscos Brewing Company 1805 21st Avenue south Nashville, TN 37212 Entry deadline: Monday JAnuary 26, 1998. I also suggest each club contact the AHA (telephone (303) 447-8016) to voice our frustration or displeasure with the posting of the club only schedule. I would think a lot of clubs structure their monthly meetings and annual calendars around the club only competition styles. Brrewers probably structure their brewing schedules around this information also. This has got to affect a lot of club's planning. chuck bernardCh at aol.com Music City Brewers, Nashville, Tennessee - Music CIty USA ------------------------------ End of judge-digest V1 #1524 **************************** Send subscription cancellations & changes to judge-request at synchro.com.
