I thought I read that on this forum a BLG> while back. If so, that would promote the BJCP as well as solve BLG> Dion's (and many of our's) dilemma. Yes, I agree that this would help my competition. I could use the BJCP Style Guidelines, refer to the issue and only if someone could not get old of it themselves, would I have to send out printed guidelines. For example, using the AHA guidelines allowed me to only have to send out about a dozen guidelines for a 267 entry competition. And no matter whether a competition chooses to use the full categories as is, or to collapse them, the information to tell which categories and how they collapse is only a couple of lines of text at most. This implies that almost everyone can get the "master" guideliens easily. Remember, this discussion is only relevant for the "internet challenged". If everyone had internet access, I could publish any darn guidelines I wanted and just refer everyone to our web page. If indeed the guidelines get published in BT, or any other magazine, it would be *really* good if it could be predicatable. That they would be published once and only once a year and every year, that they come out in the same month each year and that *no* changes be made to the guidelines be put into official use until they are published each year. I highly recommend a Nov/Dec publication date with an effective date being for the coming year. In this manner, all competitions in a given calendar year, could "sing the same tune" to the extent they chose to use full or collapsed categories. dion - -- Dion Hollenbeck (619)597-7080x164 Email: hollen at vigra.com http://www.vigra.com/~hollen Sr. Software Engineer - Vigra Div. of Visicom Labs San Diego, California ------------------------------ From: DAVE_SAPSIS at fire.ca.gov (DAVE SAPSIS) Date: Tue, 1 Apr 1997 10:52:43 -0800 Subject: World Cup Results World Cup '97 is now behind us.
