I am only an amatuer taster so I may not have the proper terms to describe the samples, but here goes. The clarity of the pints are quite cloudy with a more yellow hue than normal. The scent of the beer is of a cidery nature, and the taste is somewhat lemony and the carbonation is less than usual. The tap at this establishment is dedicated to SA Pale Ale and not all of the kegs have these odd charcteristics. From what I can tell the refrigeration system is in good order. This is of some concern to the pub owner, staff, and the regulars as we have few choices in Charleston, WV for good draft ales. Could someone reply as to what the problem may be so that I may explain to my drinking buddies and the management of this pub? Thank You, M. Tod Ralstin Charleston, WV cyberbilly at aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Feb 95 21:40:00 PST From: GSMITHBEER at eworld.com Subject: Re: #7(7) JudgeNet Digest #969 (Feb 16, 1995) Well We've really got a rhubarb here don't we. First, I'd like to comment on the remark made about Chuck Cox and the judge.NET after reading the messages placed in this forum it seems clear the administration (editing) of the NET is balanced and fair. I can even say that I've pestered Chuck and he has been quick to respond. Next, (and this is as a new member of the BJCC) I am unaware of the amount of communication which took place between and among the BJCC and BCJP directors before all hell broke loose (I was appointed two days before the withdrawl notice) but I can assure you there has been daily communication since. (I'm fearing my next phone bill; I'm sure my wife will brain me.) The BJCC is working at this and moving forward. Unfortunately, this is not always evident. All parties involved in this do have a few things in common. They care about the program, they're grateful for the work that's been done in the past, and they want to improve the program. After all isn't that what all this is about? Hot heads and in fighting aren't going to help anyone or the program. Let's try to calm down and approach this as a problem we want fixed. It's not the baseball strike, it's not war, it's not AIDS and it's not world hunger. IT"S ONLY BEER! Let's not forget that..... ------------------------------ End of JudgeNet Digest ************************
